Review: Praline Paleis – Belgian Chocolate

Advertisements

I’ve been in Belgium for over a year, and I realized that in that time I hadn’t had any Belgian chocolate. (I know heresy!) Thus I’ve rectify this situation! I went to a magical place called Praline Paleis.

It is a local family owned establishment that makes homemade chocolate!

I first stalked them on Facebook, they are very active. The upload pictures of the delicious chocolate, all of which says “Buy Me” and “Eat Me”. I asked a question about payment the night I found it and received a reply the next morning.

My first time going was great. The lady there spoke English, and was able to answer all of my question. I was able to sample some chocolate, before buying a box of dark homemade chocolates.
(If you want to see the reviews for those be sure to follow my Beer Mistress Series On Youtube. Every Friday for the month of Feb. I will be paring delicious Belgian chocolate with awesome Belgian beer.)

I also bought a bag of chocolate covered orange rinds, and chocolate covered cherries. Which I reviewed in the video below.

Spoiler: The chocolate was amazing! /End Spoiler

I was very impressed with the service and the chocolate so I went back again to buy more orange rinds and these.

Those are a Belgian specialty called sneeuwballen or snowballs. The middle is a vanilla cream that is covered in chocolate and topped with powdered sugar. They are incredible messy, but taste delicious. I’d give them 5 out of 5 stars.

If you are in Belgium I would Highly Suggest jumping over to Poperinge to try out Praline Paleis chocolates!
